Hello everyone! In this post we want to announce version 1.20 and give a general update on all the new things we've added to My Guitar Tabs.

Highlights​

  • New settings in PDF Export. Premium
  • PDF preview before exporting.
  • Tapping Notation.
  • Line Breaks.

New PDF Settings Premium​

PDF export is still a beta feature, and we keep working on improving it and adding more options. Please let us know of any issues.

Since we added PDF export, many of our users have asked for more settings to change how the PDF looks. In 1.20 we've added new settings in Export to PDF.

In the new Export to PDF menu, we also added a preview, so you can see how your PDF will look before exporting.

Dark Theme​

Now PDFs can be exported in dark theme, with the same styles as the editor dark theme.

You can choose between small, medium (default), and large print size for your PDF. These have all been tuned so they fit well on a normal PDF page.

Tapping Notation​

We added support for tapping, which shows as a T on top of the note to be tapped. You can find more information in our documentation.

Line Breaks​

Usually, a tab uses the full space available and adapts to mobile or desktop. However, sometimes it is better to control when the tab breaks, for example after a barline. Since the last blogpost, we added support for line breaks in version 1.17, letting you control when to break the tab into the next line.

Song Backup​

Since the last blogpost, we also added support for importing and exporting all your songs in settings in version 1.18. This lets you keep a local backup of your songs, so you can sync your devices offline or simply keep a copy of your songs yourself.

Other Changes​

We also worked on many other small improvements:

  • Better Android and iOS integration.
    • Better offline support. Opening the app online for the first time is no longer needed.
    • Native support for payments and login.
  • Optimize tab rendering by removing empty SVG elements.
  • Remove affiliate links, making a cleaner UI.
  • Improve UI of ASCII Export menu.
  • Improvements to the Dark theme.
  • Many small UI improvements.
  • Lots of bug fixes.
